Enjoy a private day trip to discover Stone Town and Spice Island accompanied by a guide!
You will be picked up from your hotel, and meet your guide in the centre of Stone Town to begin your tour. In their company, you will discover the historic heart of the UNESCO World Heritage district. A former crossroads of trade between Europeans, Africans, Arabs and Indians, Stone Town still bears the traces of this mix of cultures in its streets. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to see, for example, many entrance doors in Arabic or Indian architectural style. Stone Town is also known as the site of one of the last slave markets in the world.
You will discover the main sites such as the Anglican Christ Church Cathedral, the People's Palace Museum, Africa House and the Old Fort.
In the early afternoon, you will take the road to the west coast of Zanzibar, towards Spice Island. It was named after one of the world's leading producers of spices in the 19th century. You will visit a spice farm and have the opportunity to taste local spices and fruits such as cloves, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, papaya and cassava.
You will be driven back to your hotel on Stone Island at the end of the day.
