Join an authentic musubi-making workshop in Tokyo with a Japanese grandma!
Located in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo, this cooking class immerses you in Japanese culinary culture through the preparation of musubi, a traditional rice-based snack also known as onigiri.
Your experience will begin with an introduction to musubi and its history. You’ll learn why your passionate host—an 80-year-old Japanese grandma—chose to share her skills through this iconic food. She will also teach you the basics of how to prepare Japanese rice so you can recreate it at home.
Next, you’ll sample six traditional musubi fillings before making your own. With step-by-step guidance, you’ll prepare three personalized musubi while grandma provides individual attention to each participant, sharing her techniques in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The final part of the workshop is dedicated to enjoying a traditional teishoku meal, including miso soup, salad, dessert, a drink, and your freshly made musubi. An English-speaking assistant will be present throughout the activity to help with communication and ensure a smooth experience.
