Description

Hike up Europe's highest, most active volcano and enjoy breathtaking views along the way!

You'll meet your guide at the meet-up point in the Etna National Park, by the huts and restaurants, at 1,900 meters above sea level. After putting on any equipment (if needed) and listening to the guide's brief, you'll board the cable car to the Funivia Terminal, at 2,500 meters. From here you'll begin your hike.

Accompanied by your volcanologist guide, you'll begin the hike to the crater that appeared during the 2001 eruption. Afterwards, you'll go to the Valle del Bove, for panoramic views at an altitude of about 2,750 m. You'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the craters of Europe's highest active volcano.

After taking in the panoramic view, you'll head down to 2,500 metres and take the cable car back to the set-off point.

Throughout your hike, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the island as well as your guide's commentary.

***IMPORTANT: Due to the high activity levels seen in Etna since the beginning of 2021, it is no longer possible to access its summit. An order from the Italian authorities prohibits climbs above 2,750 metres***.
