Good to know

  • You are asked to indicate a tentative date to reserve your pass, but be aware that the validity of your pass actually starts from the first use (use-by date: 1 year after purchase)
  • After booking, you will receive an email allowing you to download the Go City application and synchronize your pass purchased on Ceetiz, so you can use it easily on your mobile during your stay. Please make sure you enter your e-mail address correctly when booking
  • If you don't want to use the app, you can download a PDF version of your pass (with QR code to be presented at the entrance to each attraction) and the information booklet containing the addresses and opening times of each attraction. You can save them on your phone or print them out at home
  • You don't have to choose the attractions when you book. Once on site, simply present your pass at the entrance to the attractions of your choice

All you need to do is book online, entering your bank details (no direct debits will be made). You'll need to arrive on site with your pass to be able to visit
  • Most attractions are free for babies. Passes are therefore not necessary in this case
  • IMPORTANT: The Sistine Chapel will be closed to the public from Monday April 28, 2025 until further notice for the purposes of the Conclave.
According to tradition, a Conclave is usually convened 15 to 20 days after the death of the Holy Father. If this were the case, the Conclave would probably begin between May 5 and 10. In this case, the Sistine Chapel would be closed to the public for the duration of the conclave.

The duration of the conclave can vary: it can last a few hours, several days or even weeks, depending on how long it takes the cardinals to reach the majority needed to elect the new pope.
In the event of the Sistine Chapel being unavailable, the Vatican Museums usually organize an alternative tour itinerary to ensure visitors have a meaningful and enriching experience, though not including the chapel and surrounding areas for security reasons.
The time that would have been spent in the chapel will be devoted to discovering other remarkable sections of the Museums, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the artistic and historical treasures.
