Discover ice canoeing, a sport unique to Quebec, and admire the scenery of the St. Lawrence river at sunset!
Ice canoeing is a truly unique activity: it's only practised in Quebec. It's the most original and safest way to go and play on the St. Lawrence River in the winter. Five boaters can take part. When the river isn't iced over, boaters move the canoe with the help of large oars, much like those used for rowing. When the river is icy, the oars are kept in the boat and the canoe makes its own way across the ice. With crampons on their feet, canoeists then take up the 'scooter' position.
You'll set off on the St. Lawrence River in your canoe, enjoying the calmness and beauty of the sunset over the St. Lawrence River. At the halfway point, you'll take a break on the ice in the middle of the river. Sip a non-alcoholic cocktail as you gaze out at the breathtaking panorama.
Throughout the activity, your guides will be by your side to share their passion for ice canoeing.
