Discover the gastronomy and wines of Porto on a culinary walking tour!
You'll meet your local guide in the center of Porto to begin an authentic gastronomic stroll.
You'll explore traditional taverns and grocery stores, sample a variety of Portuguese tapas, accompanied by local drinks, while learning about the region's culinary history.
You'll taste a Pastel de Nata, an emblematic cream tartlet, a Pastel de Bacalhau (cod fritter) served with a glass of Vinho Verde, a light, slightly sparkling wine, as well as a board of local charcuterie accompanied by a Douro wine.
You'll also enjoy a Bifana, a typically Portuguese spicy pork sandwich, accompanied by a light beer called "fino", before finishing with a tasting of three styles of Port wine: Ruby, Tawny and White.
As the tour progresses, you'll pass by iconic landmarks such as Santa Catarina shopping street, Passos Manuel street, Aliados avenue and the traditional Bolhão market.
If you choose the 4-hour option, you'll enjoy a full meal in addition to the tastings: half a Francesinha, Porto's signature dish of meat, bread, melted cheese and spicy sauce, and half a wood-grilled chicken. A true Portuguese lunch or dinner, depending on your tour schedule.
Your local English-speaking guide will share anecdotes and stories around local gastronomy, giving you a better understanding of Porto's culinary history.
