Right in the heart of the World of Wine (WoW) cultural complex, come and discover a crucial part of the wine industry: cork!

Head to Vila Nova de Gaia near Porto, the World of Wine complex is home to several museums and tasting workshops based around wine (and more!). You'll learn about a crucial part of the wine industry: cork. 

You'll find out more about the world of cork, from the forests to its transformation process and its enormous potential in the modern world. You'll also discover how cork production is a rare example of an industry with a negative carbon footprint, and understand how Portugal has become the world's largest cork producer, accounting for 50% of global production.
