Tour Philadelphia's must-see historical highlights with a local guide!
You'll meet your guide at Signer's Garden, a pretty city park and home to the first monument you'll see: the Signer statue, a tribute to people who have dedicated their lives to freedom of rights. Then you'll embark on a journey through the history of Philadelphia, the founding city of the United States!
Your guide will show you the park's most important landmarks, such as Independence Hall, the building where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the American Constitution was adopted. You'll also pass Congress Hall and Old City Hall. Afterwards, you'll see the Liberty Bell and learn why this monument became globally famous. You'll also pass by the President's House, which was home to George Washington and John Adams when Philadelphia was still the capital of the United States.
You can pay tribute to one of the country's most influential citizens by visiting Benjamin Franklin's grave. You'll then walk past the house of Betsy Ross, famous for having made the first American flag, and head down Elfreth's Alley, the oldest street in Philadelphia. During the tour, you'll also take in a living history demo at the Museum of the American Revolution.
Your tour will end in the heart of the old town and your guide will be happy to recommend a number of restaurants and pubs that are worth a visit during your stay!
