Discover Burgundy and two UNESCO World Heritage sites on this day trip from Paris!
You'll be picked up at your hotel by your private chauffeur and driven to Vézelay in Burgundy. After a three hour drive, you will arrive in this medieval village, considered to be one of the most beautiful in France. You'll have free time to explore Vézelay at your own pace, visit the Vézelay Abbey (or Basilica of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine), a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture built in the 12th century, and enjoy panoramic views of the Burgundy countryside. Stroll through the picturesque streets of Vézelay, visit the souvenir stores or relax in a café.
After lunch (not included), continue your tour to Fontenay Abbey, about an hour's drive away. Founded in 1118 by Saint Bernard, this Cistercian abbey is remarkable for its simple yet majestic Romanesque architecture. You'll have free time to explore the abbey, discover its well preserved buildings and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historic site.
In the afternoon, leave Fontenay and return to your hotel in Paris, where you will arrive at around 6:30 pm.
