Enjoy some Japanese elegance by hiring a kimono in Kyoto for a day!
The kimono is a traditional Japanese garment: it's still worn today, usually on special occasions. You can hire and wear this outfit for a day and stroll around Kyoto at your own pace.
The hire shop has a range of models, colours and patterns on offer. Once you've made your choice, the shop team will help you get dressed and teach you the rules and customs that go with wearing a kimono.
You'll put on a complete outfit, consisting of the kimono and obi (belt) of your choice, as well as sandals and a bag. You can also complete this outfit with the hair and make-up optional extra (women only).
You'll be free to wear the kimono as you explore the city during the hire shop's opening hours. At the end of your day out in Kyoto, you'll need to return the hired kimono before the shop closes.
