Day trip to Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park - Kauai Island
The island of Kauai is the oldest island in the Hawaiian archipelago, also known as "Garden Island". With its tropical forests, waterfalls and streams, valleys and mountains, you'll be amazed by the diversity of landscapes this island has to offer. Waimea Canyon, also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, located on the west side of the island, is one of Kauai's must-see places to contemplate nature in all its splendor. On this tour, you'll see some of the island's most beautiful sights and soak up Hawaiian traditions.
On your tour program:
- The "Horn Blowhole": caused by waves rushing between large volcanic boulders. You'll observe water jets up to 20 meters high.
- The Hanapepe Valley viewpoint: you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the island and the town of Hanapepe. This is also where the filming of Jurrasic Park took place.
- Hanapepe "Swinging Bridge": a swinging, creaking bridge that links the two parts of Hanapepe town, you'll have the opportunity to cross this bridge that swings over the river.
Stop at the Kokeʻe Lodge for refreshments
- Koke'e State Park: located on Kauai's west coast, you'll set off on a hike along an easily accessible trail. You'll observe rare bird species that can only be found on the island.
- Puu Hinahina lookout: located in one of the peaks of Waimea Canyon, you'll observe the expanse of the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.
- Kauai Coffee Plantation: you'll set off on a walk through a coffee orchard that leads right down to the ocean. You'll learn all about the coffee process, from flowering to roasting. You'll taste Hawaiian coffee grown in the orchard while relaxing under the Hawaiian sun.
