Explore the natural wonders of Kauai with this day trip, including a round-trip flight from Oahu!
Your adventure will begin with an early morning inter-island flight from Oahu to Kauai. From the moment you arrive, you'll be immersed in the wild beauty of the Garden Isle. Your first stop will take you to the spectacular Waimea Canyon, dubbed the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific". This epic canyon, over 16 km long, 1.5 km wide and over 900 meters deep, offers breathtaking panoramas of its deep gorges and reddish soils contrasting with lush vegetation. You'll enjoy impressive views from the Waimea Canyon Lookout.
You'll then continue on to the ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls, a majestic waterfall 46 meters high and 12 meters wide. Meaning "rolling shrimp" in Hawaiian, in homage to the shrimp that once populated the creek, this waterfall is one of the most accessible on Kauai. The day continues with a visit to the Spouting Horn Blowhole, a unique natural phenomenon where waves crash into cavities in volcanic rock to project powerful jets of salt water into the air. This site is one of the most photographed on Kauai.
A stop at the Hanapepe Valley Lookout will then offer you a panoramic view of a verdant valley covered with trees and wild sugarcane. This historic site was explored by Charles Wilkes in 1840 during his American expedition.
In the afternoon, you'll embark on a peaceful cruise on the 3 km-long Wailua River aboard an open boat. Your guide will tell you all about the fascinating history of the region as you glide along this freshwater river through tropical landscapes.
At the end of the cruise, you'll discover the legendary Fern Grotto, an enchanting site nestled in the heart of the rainforest. You'll walk up to this natural grotto adorned with hanging ferns, while enjoying a live rendition of the famous Hawaiian wedding song, a magical moment in a verdant setting.
Your day will end with the flight back to Oahu, after exploring Kauai's natural treasures.
